31st annual Native American Pow-Wow coming to Haverhill


The Kasibahagua Taino Cultural Society will perform both days. This intertribal, intergenerational organization of indigenous Caribbean singers, musicians, speakers, and artists is dedicated to transmitting their ancestral heritage to their present and future generations.

Native American foods and American fare will be available all day. Suggested donation is $5 for adults, $4 for senior citizens and $3 for children ages 4 to 12. Children 3 and younger are admitted free.

No pets, drugs, alcohol or coolers are allowed.

Kasibahagua at Indigenous Peoples Day NYC
























#IPDNYC is an annual event co-sponsored by the United Confederation of Taíno People, Indigenous Peoples Day NYC is an alternative to Columbus Day celebrated in NYC​. Indigenous cultural presentations, speakers, artisans and vendors, Native Foods, and more. LOOK for the table and performance of the Kasibahagua Taino Cultural Society. October 13-14, ICHAN Stadium, Randalls Island, NY. Sunrise ceremony 7am on October 14. The event takes place BEHIND ICHAN Stadium.

Kasibahagua will present Taíno cultural at Bear Mountain Pow Wow


Bear Mountain, NY (UCTP Taíno News) –
 Members of the Kasibahagua Taíno Cultural Society will share two cultural presentations, one on Saturday, August 3rd and one on Sunday, August 4 at the Bear Mountain Pow Wow. The group will also have an educational booth to continue to educate attendees throughout the weekend. Founded in 1994, members of Kasibahagua have promoted Taino culture and educated thousands using music, song, dance, and art at Pows Wows, festivals, conferences, and other events around the world. The Annual Bear Mountain Powwow will be held at Anthony Wayne Recreation Area, in Stony Point, New York. A Grand Entry of Dancers begins at 1 p.m. and again at 5 p.m., rain or shine. The event is open to the public who are welcome to bring lawn chairs. The Bear Mountain Powwow is hosted by the Redhawk Native American Arts Council. Kasibahagua to present at First Annual Children's Areito in the Bronx

Organized by UCTP member organization Bohio Atabei Taíno Women's Circle, this program will feature Taíno songs, dances, educational activities, intergenerational sharing, hands-on workshops and opportunities to interact with Taíno and other leaders of indigenous peoples. This event is endorsed by the United Confederation of Taíno People.
